In Phillies news tonight, veteran Jimmy Rollins keyed the Philadelphia Phillies offensive attack on Sunday, adding three hits to the cause in a 10-9 slugfest victory in Colorado.
Per Dennis Georgatos of the Associated Press, "Jimmy Rollins homered early, then hit a go-ahead single in the eighth inning" to bookend the Phillies' attack in another crazy Coors Field contest.
Ryan Howard was also a huge contributor, collecting four hits including a rare triple and a home run. He drove in three.
Per the AP report, "Philadelphia had gone four games without an extra-base hit before breaking loose. They had scored a total of only two runs in dropping the first two games to Colorado."
And break loose they did, putting a ten-spot on the Rockies to salvage a game out of the three game series in the Mile-High City.
The Phillies begin a four-game set in Los Angeles on Monday, with Cliff Lee (2-2) taking the hill against the Dodgers' Paul Maholm (0-1) in Monday's contest.
