The Philadelphia Flyers needed a hero to rescue their power play. It felt mindblowing that the only thing that appeared to be not going their way when it came to the game of hockey, was the man advantage.
With that inability to produce on the power play being such a detriment that they might as well have declined the penalty and stuck with 5-on-5, head coach John Tortorella decided to unleash a new man on to the second unit. Egor Zamula has been getting chances to quarterback and run the secondary power-play unit for two games now and while visiting the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night, he sent a message that he should belong there for at least a few more games.
