The Philadelphia Flyers surprised some people when they traded down to select center Jett Luchanko with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft. The then-17-year-old forward was ranked in the second half of the first round by most scouts and draft experts, and Luchanko wasn’t really on the radar of Flyers fans. But he was very much on the radar of Daniel Briere, Keith Jones, Brent Flahr, and the rest of the Flyers front office as the Orange and Black brass were happy to draft the speedy center with their top pick in this year’s draft.
Fast forward just over three months and the fresh-faced forward is making quite the impact in training camp.
