After suffering a 3-0 loss in their 2019-20 regular-season opener against the Providence Bruins, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms have made a roster move. The team announced on Monday morning that they’ve assigned goaltender Felix Sandstrom to their ECHL affiliate Reading Royals. Sandstrom will now split time with fellow goalie prospect Kirill Ustimenko as the Royals will likely opt for the tandem route instead of giving one of them the bulk of the starts.
While this move is slightly disappointing as fans were anticipating Sandstrom to start the year in the Valley, I can’t say I didn’t see it coming.
