The Philadelphia Flyers made plenty of roster cuts after their final preseason game against the Bruins (Recap), starting with loaning Carter Hart, Philippe Myers, and Mark Friedman to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Dale Weise and Taylor Leier were placed on and eventually cleared waivers, which was interesting given they had just one more roster cut to make at the time.
The Flyers claimed Calvin Pickard off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs the next day to backup Brian Elliott while Michal Neuvirth is on the shelf with a groin injury.
