After an overtime victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday, the Philadelphia Flyers kicked off a five game home-stand going against the Connor McDavid led Edmonton Oilers
Carter Hart received the start in-net and opposed Cam Talbot. Talbot had 9-13-2 record coming in, with a 3.27 Goals-Against Average and a .894 save percentage. The Flyers needed to take advantage of the struggling 31 year-old and consistently apply pressure in the offensive zone to achieve victory.
They did just that to start the game, capitalizing on a power-play opportunity thanks to a tic-tac-toe play to set up Sean Couturier for the early one goal lead.
