Sean Couturier scored a power play goal and added an empty netter as the Flyers beat the Sabres 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Wells Fargo Center to win their third straight game after a disappointing loss to Pittsburgh to start the new year.
It was never easy as the Flyers, playing the second of a back-to-back, fought off the gritty Sabres for much of the third period as they protected a 2-1 lead.
