Canada will be heading to the finals at the Men’s World Championship and Scott Laughton played a small role in that. The Flyers forward assisted on Canada’s second goal and scored the empty netter that sealed their 4-2 victory over Latvia.
Latvia had a 1-0 lead after the first and a 2-1 lead after the second. Three straight goals by Canada sent them to their fourth straight gold medal game and seventh in their last eight tournaments.
Artus Silovs had quite the tournament for Latvia. He had helped the team win six straight games coming into the semi-final against Canada.
