Umberger missed Tuesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche with an injury. Now, it appears that his absence will last even longer.
R.J. Umberger was the biggest pleasant surprise of the season's first two games for the Philadelphia Flyers. Following offseason surgery, Umberger looked rejuvenated - a faster, more aggressive forward and a far cry from the slow and ineffective player of 2014-15.
But after returning from an early injury, Umberger's performance began to slip. And unfortunately, the embattled forward is now banged up once again.
The Flyers announced this morning that Umberger will miss 1-2 weeks with a lower-body injury.
