Ray Emery is officially sticking around. The Flyers announced Friday afternoon that they're signing the veteran goaltender for the remainder of the season. He's not eligible to play in the postseason, but Michal Neuvirth is expected to be back if the Flyers do make the playoffs.
Anthony Stolarz is also still on the roster, so there's no guarantee that Emery even sees the bench.
Emery is also on waivers today, but that's needed by rule since he was previously playing in Europe. Some have speculated that a team in direct competition with the Flyers for a playoff spot could attempt to thwart the effort by placing a claim on Emery, but that's probably far-fetched.
