Mikko Rantanen scored twice and Semyon Varlamov made 37 saves as the Avalanche beat the Flyers, 4-1, on Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center to sweep the season series between the two teams.
Nolan Patrick scored the lone Flyers goal, who fell to 4-5 with the loss. Brian Elliott made 29 saves in the losing effort and the Flyers squandered three power play chances while again giving up a power play goal.
