Someday, defenseman Ivan Provorov and right winger Travis Konecny, players selected in the first round of June’s draft, might be the faces of the Flyers.
That’s several years away. For now, the highly regarded rookies are in their first training camp, and they are hoping to impress the Flyers’ brass.
Both say they want to earn spots in the NHL. This year.
Konecny is the longest of longshots, but Provorov seems to have at least a 50/50 chance.
“I thought it was a good first day of work,” said Provorov, 18, after the initial day of rookie camp at the Skate Zone in Voorhees.
