The Philadelphia Flyers were back home after a thrilling win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Stadium Series with a tilt against the Buffalo Sabres. The Orange and Black were playing their first game without Wayne Simmonds in what seems like an eternity, but they would not disappoint.
Newcomer Ryan Hartman made his presence early, leveling a skater and drawing a penalty. He set the table and make a great impression on the fan base. Oskar Lindblom opened the scoring with his 12th goal of the season. Jake Voracek would follow up with one of his own to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead after one period of play.
