The Philadelphia Flyers are red hot and tried to add to their season-high, six-game win streak. The Orange and Black got out to an early lead as Sean Couturier opened the scoring on the power play just three minutes into regulation.
Edmonton would bounce back, scoring three consecutive goals to take a 3-1 lead towards the latter part of the second period. The Flyers were getting outworked and outshot by a large margin. Carter Hart did his best to keep the team in striking distance and make time for a comeback.
Before the second period ended, Claude Giroux would score on the power play to give them a one-goal deficit heading into the third.
