The Philadelphia Flyers were back at the Wells Fargo Center after a gutsy win over the Chicago Blackhawks earlier in the week. A loss against the New York Islanders at home could very well their playoff home with just seven games remaining.
The game got off to a slow start. Robert Hägg got called for a phantom penalty, but karma would leave its mark. Hägg fired a shot towards the net. A weird deflection would bank in and give the Flyers an early 1-0 lead. After the Islanders took back the lead heading into the third period, the Flyers were called for another brutal penalty, on an interference that wasn’t anything close to it.
