The Philadelphia Flyers have had a deep defensive pipeline since now-former GM Ron Hextall took over in 2014. Picking players such as Ivan Provorov, Travis Sanheim, and Philippe Myers, you can’t deny that Hexy had a quality eye for blue-liners coming out of the draft process. Flashing forward to now, all three of those names I listed above have spent time in the NHL, with some reaching the league faster than others. Provorov and Sanheim have found success while Myers is still getting his feet wet in a Flyers uniform.
Though those former top prospects are no longer in the system, Philadelphia still has plenty of talented blue-liners playing in juniors, college, and the AHL.
