General Manager Chuck Fletcher has brought in yet another player he has previous ties to. The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Wednesday morning that they have signed forward Chris Stewart to an NHL Pro Try-Out to attend their 2019 Training Camp. Fletcher traded for the former First Round Pick back at the 2015 Trade Deadline while with the Minnesota Wild and subsequently placed him on waivers three years later in February of 2018.
The 31-year-old winger played most of his hockey in the Elite Ice Hockey League in the United Kingdom last season, scoring 13 points (6 Goals, 7 Assists) in 23 games with the Nottingham Panthers.
