Rick MacLeish, a key member of the Broad Street Bullies Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup winning teams, passed away earlier this week. Fellow Flyers teammate Reggie Leach first announced the news on Facebook. MacLeish was 66 years old.
MacLeish has been hospitalized recently battling multiple medical issues. The family declined to disclose any specific information about his illnesses.
MacLeish was known for smooth “river” skating and goal scoring. Slotting in as the number 2 center behind Bob Clarke, MacLeish was the first member of the Philadelphia Flyers ever to score 50 goals.
