Goaltender Samuel Ersson is starting to become a more prominent name amongst Philadelphia Flyers fans with great performances in the Swedish SuperElit league in 2017-18 and more recently the Under-20 World Junior Championships. Ersson continued to impress in the Swedish Allsvenskan league this past season and earned a couple of awards for his efforts.
The 6’2, 176-pound goaltender posted a 1.95 Goals Against Average (GAA) with a .933 save percentage in 36 games played for Västerås IK. He sustained that success during qualification play, knabbing a slightly better 1.60 GAA with a .938 save percentage in five games.
