Last night, the Brandon Wheat Kings beat the Red Deer Rebels 5-2, clinching their series 4-1 and advancing to the WHL playoff finals. This will be the second straight year that Brandon, junior hockey home of Philadelphia Flyers prospect Ivan Provorov, will be playing the finals.
Provorov, of course, is probably the Flyers top prospect. The Flyers took Provorov with the 7th pick in the 2015 NHL draft. He had another magnificent season in the WHL this year. He was named the best defenseman in the league, scored 73 points in 62 games, and led the league with an amazing +64 rating.
