“Ugh! The second unit…”
I feel like I uttered this phrase way too many times last season, because the feeling was that when the Flyers’ second power play unit was on the ice, you could almost be assured that the end result would not be a goal … at least not for the Flyers.
In a way, it’s funny to say something bad about the Flyers power play too. When a team operates at the third-best power play percentage in the league and is tied for second-most power play goals, you almost feel greedy saying that they could be giving you so much more than that, but at the same time, there is certainly a great deal more that can be done with the power play.
