Hoping to avoid finishing the year with a five game losing streak, the Philadelphia Flyers played host to the Carolina Hurricanes.
Carter Hart received the start from Interim Head Coach Scott Gordon and opposed Curtis McElhinney in-net. McElhinney came in with a 2.57. Goals-Against Average and a .912 save percentage. The Flyers needed to get a win in order to finish the season on a high note, unless of course they wanted to better their position for the 2019 NHL Draft.
After trading chances to begin the opening stanza, Carolina struck first on a goal from Warren Foegele.
