After waiving both forwards Dale Weise and Taylor Leier on Monday the Philadelphia Flyers made a claim on the waiver wire, claiming goaltender Calvin Pickard from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Pickard, 26, spent most of his time in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies last season. In 33 games Pickard posted a 21-9-2 record, a 2.31 goals against average, a .918 save percentage, and one shutout. He and fellow net-minder Garret Sparks won the Hap Holmes Award for allowing the least amount of goals per game in the regular season.
