Oskar Lindblom has been officially nominated for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, a league-wide award given to the player who “to a high degree the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.” Lindblom was a Masterton finalist in 2020, but the award went to Bobby Ryan of the Ottawa Senators after the veteran winger battled and overcame alcoholism.
Lindblom is considered by many to be a lock for the award after returning from his treatments for Ewing’s sarcoma. The 24 year-old left wing has posted 8 goals, 6 assists, and 14 points in 49 games this season after signing a three year, $3 million AAV extension with the team last summer.
