One day after winning all-star MVP award, Flyers' Simmonds receives another honor

Another day, another honor for Flyers right winger Wayne Simmonds.

One day after he was named the NHL all-star game MVP, Simmonds was selected as the league's No. 1 star of the week.

San Jose left winger Patrick Marleau and Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen were named the Nos. 2 and 3 stars, respectively.

Simmonds had the winning goal in a 2-0 conquest of the New York Rangers and also scored to key a 2-1 victory over Toronto.

The 28-year-old Simmonds shares ninth place in the NHL with 21 goals and is on pace for a career-high 34 goals.
