It's finally official. The Flyers and Penguins will be playing outside at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh on February 18, 2017 as part of the NHL Stadium Series. It will also be part of the 50th anniversary year for both teams.
The NHL made the announcement on Wednesday night on NBC Sports Network. The Flyers vs. Penguins game will be one of four outdoor games that year, joining the Heritage Classic between the Oilers and Jets in Winnipeg on October 23, the Centennial Classic between the Leafs and Wings in Toronto on January 1 and the Winter Classic on January 2 between the Blues and Blackhawks in St.
