On the first day of the Flyers' development camp, Kim Dillabaugh spent a couple of hours on the ice at the Skate Zone in Voorhees, drilling a few of the organization's goaltending prospects, his most important pupil still enjoying his summer vacation.
The Flyers announced last week that they had hired Dillabaugh to be their goaltending coach, handing him the responsibility for developing those prospects, yes, but also for coaxing continued excellence from the team's best and most important player last season: Steve Mason. They have five goalies in this camp, including two of the three they selected in this year's draft.
