Left winger Matt Read will be on the top line, Michael Raffl will drop to the third unit, and goalie Steve Mason will play for the first time in the last five games when the Flyers host the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
Read, rebounding from consecutive poor seasons, has six goals in 13 games. He replaces Raffl on the top line.
"He's a different player, obviously, than Michael Raffl," coach Dave Hakstol said after Tuesday's morning skate at the Wells Fargo Center. "Michael Raffl is a straight-line power forward. Reader is a very responsible player, but he's going to bring speed and pretty good structure and playmaking.
