Matt Read back in lineup after wake-up call

After being a healthy scratch Saturday for the first time in his five-year NHL career, winger Matt Read returned to the Flyers' lineup Tuesday against Montreal.

Read, who entered the night with five goals and 12 points in 36 games, along with a minus-5 rating, said the benching was a wake-up call and that coach Dave Hakstol said complacency was creeping into his game.

"You have to learn from it," Read said before the game. "You can't get too negative. . . . Obviously, I sat for a reason."

Read, 29, was benched Saturday in a 2-1 loss in Los Angeles even though he had collected four points, all assists, in his last six games.
