Lou Angotti, while not in the organization for long, began the long and storied history of what it means to be the captain of the Philadelphia Flyers. While he played for the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks previously, he became the franchise’s first captain after he was selected by the team in the 1967 Expansion Draft.
