The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Jon-Randall Avon to a three-year, entry-level contract, according to Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher.
Avon was originally a Development Camp invite by the Flyers earlier in the summer, and just recently participated in Rookie Camp this past week and played in both rookie games against the New York Rangers.
Avon has improved every day he has been on the ice. He’s shown off some great playmaking abilities, smart play in his own zone, and has been a smooth skater. He was certainly impressive last weekend in the rookie games against the Rangers and now he has been rewarded with his first NHL contract.
