For the second Monday in a row, Philadelphia is home to the NHL’s first star of the week. Last Monday, the honor went to Steve Mason and today, thanks to back-to-back four-point games, Jakub Voracek has earned the honor.
In total, Jake had nine points — three goals and six assists — in four games last week. He had the overtime winner against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, had a goal and three assists in the 6-5 win over Edmonton, and did the same in Saturday’s win over Dallas. According to the NHL, Voracek is the first Flyer with four or more points in consecutive team games since Eric Lindros completed the feat in back-to-backs on December 31, 1997 and January 3, 1998.
