Finally, the Flyers have hit the ice once again in South Philadelphia. Hockey is alive and well throughout the region, as the proud orange-clad fans flooded the Wells Fargo Center for the home opener against their rivals in the New Jersey Devils.
The Flyers came into the Devils on a high after defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 last Friday in Prague. They looked to continue their winning ways against a Devils team that was 0-1-1 coming into this tilt, “We’re a little more comfortable now, and we just gotta build on that,” Sean Couturier said.
The Flyers had their legs early in this one, as it appeared Carter Hart would have a fairly easy night in net.
