As if their original punishment last year wasn’t enough, the International Ice Hockey Federation have added additional punishment on Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov, his former KHL club CSKA and the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF).
On Saturday the IIHF issued a press release imposing sanctions for “violating the IIHF International Transfer Regulations (continuing to allow Fedotov to play with an approved international transfer) and, with respect to Fedotov, his continued violation of his NHL Standard Player Contract (SPC) with the Philadelphia Flyers.”
The punishment includes a 24-month “transfer ban on all international transfers” starting August 11, 2024 and concluding August 10, 2026.
