TORONTO - The Flyers, despite missing their two best centers and having two goals disallowed, moved to within three points of a playoff spot with a 5-4 overtime victory over Toronto on Saturday night at the Air Canada Centre.
Twenty-nine seconds into overtime, Shayne Gostisbehere scored on a one-timer from the left side to give the Flyers the win.
It was his fourth overtime goal this season and it extended his scoring streak to 15 games.
In a bizarre game in which all four goalies were used, it helped that the Flyers played a ragged, injury-plagued opponent, a usually low-scoring Toronto team that has the fewest wins in the NHL.
