Flyers slip past the Wild

Flyers winger Jake Voracek said the season-long, six-game homestand will "define whether we're going to make the playoffs or not."

It started encouragingly Thursday as goalie Michal Neuvirth and three unlikely goal-scorers led the Flyers past the Minnesota Wild, 3-2, at the Wells Fargo Center.

Neuvirth made a spectacular diving save with 2.6 seconds left to rob Charlie Coyle of the game-tying goal. The play was reviewed, and the replay showed the puck did not cross the goal line.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare ended a 31-game scoring drought, snapping a 2-2 tie with 16 minutes, 39 seconds left, helping the Flyers move to within three points of the final wild-card spot with 22 games remaining.
