The Flyers signed former St. Louis Blues left wing Chris Porter to a one-year contract. Porter, 31, played three seasons under new Flyers coach Dave Hakstol at the University of North Dakota.
The 6-1, 206-pound Porter appeared in 24 games with the Blues last season, posting one goal and one assist. He has spent his entire NHL career with St. Louis, appearing in 173 regular-season games and recording 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points over parts of six seasons. He also has two goals and three assists in 15 Stanley Cup playoff games.
Porter has also played seven seasons in the American Hockey League with the Blues' affiliates.
