Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere had a heavy heart when discussing the horrific shootings Wednesday in which 17 people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. The story hit home for Gostisbehere, who attended the high school for two years.

On Thursday morning, suspect Nikolas Cruz, 19, was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder after being questioned for hours by state and federal authorities, according to the Associated Press.
