Flyers send Medvedev home with 'upper-body injury'

EDMONTON - A black practice jersey hung from Evgeny Medvedev's locker stall inside Rexall Place Tuesday morning. The Flyers got the morning off after traveling following Monday's 4-1 loss in Vancouver, but scratches Chris Conner and Sean Couturier were on the ice with Tuesday's starting goalie, Michal Neuvirth.

Medvedev was scratched from Monday's lineup for the first time all season. His scratch was a bit peculiar, given that he spent the first few weeks of the season as one of the Flyers' best defensemen.

But he wasn't on the ice Tuesday morning, either, with Conner, Neuvirth, or Couturier - who flew to Edmonton to rejoin the team as he continues to recover from a concussion injury that's kept him out of the lineup since Oct.
