Defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere, who scored three goals in his three preseason games, center Nick Cousins, and defenseman Robert Hagg were sent to the AHL Phantoms on Saturday as the Flyers reduced their roster to 26 players.
The Flyers still have three more cuts coming before the Oct. 8 opener in Tampa. They want to get down to 23 players before their last preseason game, Oct. 2, at New Jersey.
Barring a trade, the Flyers figure to cut three players from the following group: Scott Laughton Colin McDonald, Brandon Manning, Chris Porter, and Chris VandeVelde.
