Unless Vinny Lecavalier is traded or a center is injured, Scott Laughton figures to be sent down to the AHL Phantoms at some point during training camp.
But the 6-foot-1, 190-pound Laughton, the team’s No. 1 pick (20th overall) in 2012, is doing his best to remain with the NHL team.
Nine-plus months removed from a concussion that stunted his progress, Laughton is healthy and has opened the eyes of the Flyers' brass in training camp.
"Scotty has showed us quite a bit. I like what I’ve seen," GM Ron Hextall said after Thursday’s training-camp session in Voorhees.
