The doldrums of the offseason have been staved off for a little while longer, as the Flyers have offered up one small news happening to keep everyone at least a little bit entertained. They announced this morning that they’ve extended defenseman Adam Ginning, signing the pending RFA to a two-year contract extension.
This contract begins as a two-way deal, but then changes over to a one-way in the second year. This means that Ginning can still be sent to the AHL in both years of the contract, but in the second, he’ll be paid his NHL salary ($787,500) regardless of which league he’s playing in.
