After acquiring defenseman Ryan Ellis last weekend, the Philadelphia Flyers weren’t done making moves to (hopefully) contend for a playoff spot next season. The team announced that they have hired Darryl Williams as an assistant coach.

Williams, 53, has spent the last couple of years as an assistant coach of the Newfoundland Growlers, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ ECHL affiliate, during a little bit of a homecoming period for the brief former NHLer.
