ANAHEIM, Calif. - Maybe the Flyers' New Year's resolution was to fire more shots on goal.
They whipped shots, lots of shots, from all angles on Sunday night at the Honda Center.
But it didn't matter.
They equaled a franchise record for shots in a road game (55) but lost to Anaheim, 4-3, in a shootout.
The Flyers lost all three games on the trip. Over the last three years, they have lost 11 road straight on their first trip after the holiday break.
Corey Perry had the winner in the fifth round of the shootout.
