Flyers defenseman Evgeny Medvedev was arrested in Montgomery County early Wednesday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.
Medvedev, 33, was pulled over by Lower Moreland police around 2:44 a.m. on Byberry Road for a traffic violation, according to Police Chief Peter Hasson.
Medvedev, a Russian national who signed a one-year contract with the team last May, was arrested for driving under the influence.
“He was very cooperative,” Hasson said.
Medvedev was taken to the Lower Moreland police station for a blood alcohol test, which Hasson said is routine procedure.
