VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- For the first time in three months, defenseman Andrew MacDonald will be a healthy scratch Sunday night when the Flyers play in Vancouver.
MacDonald has 13 points and a minus-7 rating, which is actually second among the team’s regular defensemen. Brandon Manning will take MacDonald’s spot on the first defensive pairing, alongside Ivan Provorov.
Manning, who will move from the left to right side. had been paired with Radko Gudas.
“It’s an opportunity for a rest for Mac,” coach Dave Hakstol said after the morning skate Sunday, adding he wasn't disappointed in the defenseman's play.
