Flyers and free-agency: Who will they land?

The NHL free-agent period opens at noon Friday, but barring a trade, cap limitations will make the Flyers a small player.

The Flyers like second-tier free agents such as 6-foot-1, 205-pound left winger Jamie McGinn and 6-3, 213-pound right winger Troy Brouwer. The latter had a terrific post-season and may be too pricey for the Orange and Black.

McGinn, who turns 28 on Aug. 5, had a combined 22 goals (a career high) and 39 points with Buffalo and Anaheim last season, when he had counted for $2.95 million against the salary cap. Known for his physical play, he was on the Ducks' top two lines.
