In desperate need of a win on Tuesday night, the Philadelphia Flyers went into the Honda Center and did what they had to do, handing the Anaheim Ducks their sixth (0-5-1) consecutive loss.
The orange and black were looking to end a three-game losing streak of their own, and did so by actually making adjustments to their strategy and personnel. Nicolas Aube-Kubel made his National Hockey League debut, dishing out four hits and generally looking like a competent NHLer in his 5:44 of ice time.
The Flyers scored the first goal of the game for only the second time in 12 contests, and seemed to make a point to play much less of a perimeter game in the offensive zone.
