The Philadelphia Flyers’ acquisition of Jamie Drysdale last week not only gave them a young right-handed defenseman with top-pair upside but also gives them some flexibility at the upcoming trade deadline.
Over the weekend, we looked at how the Drysdale addition may impact the Flyers’ upcoming draft. Philadelphia has two first-round picks in the 2024 NHL Draft — their own and Florida’s (top-10 protected) from the Claude Giroux trade. The Panthers are firmly in a playoff spot, so that pick is all but officially property of the Flyers.
Danny Briere and the Flyers will have an opportunity to add another first-round pick at the trade deadline, along with other future assets.
