Some quick observations from the Flyers’ 4-2 win Saturday night over Toronto at the Air Canada Centre:
Rallying cry. Flyers general manager Ron Hextall, upset that two Flyers goals were nullified in Thursday’s excruciating 5-4 loss in Ottawa, said he wanted his team to turn their frustrations into a “rallying cry.”
That’s just what they did.
The Flyers (6-5) looked like the hungrier team and they bounced back to defeat the Maple Leafs, beating goalie Frederik Andersen for the first time ever. Andersen is now 6-1 against the Flyers.
“We started playing a great team game early,” captain Claude Giroux said.
